FAQ
Common questions
Do you come to me?
Yes. Matt's Marine Services is fully mobile, working on boats at home, at the ramp or wherever they are stored, across Perth, the Peel region and north to Jurien Bay.
How often should an outboard be serviced?
Every 100 hours of use or every 12 months, whichever comes first. Saltwater use, short trips and long periods sitting idle all shorten that interval.
What areas do you cover?
From Waroona and Mandurah in the south, through Perth and the northern suburbs, and up the coast to Lancelin, Cervantes and Jurien Bay.
What does a pre-purchase inspection cover?
A compression and diagnostic check on the engine, a look over the electrical and steering systems, the trailer, and general condition, so a buyer knows what they are getting before money changes hands. The report comes back the same day.
What does a service cost?
It depends on the engine, its hours and condition, the parts it needs and the travel involved. Matt quotes over the phone at no cost and gives an approximate cost before any work starts.
My boat has been sitting for a season, what now?
Book a service before the first run. Old fuel, flat batteries, perished impellers and seized steering are the four things that turn up most often after a lay-up.
